Midem Music Conference

Doyle Album is finally mastered ready for the Midem Music Conference. “It sounds really nice, especially as we have had two years to think about the tracks. It features one of the Nashville recordings (the Second Coming) and the running order begins with the short and snappy, ‘Twenty Four Days’. I believe that 2008 is the year for mass distribution of this album across a multitude of territories. Thank God, it has been a long road.

Doyle decides to do it his way.

I went out for run and and received a flash of inspiration. I suddenly realised that maybe traveling half way round the world and spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on music wasn’t doing it my way. The word’s of ‘My Way’ are the most crucial words a person can ever learn. The message is, whatever you do, do it your way, and if you fail, at least you did it your way.

My way was always to set up my own label and help myself and other acts get to the top through hard work and sheer bloody mindedness. Not to listen to the world of others, but to hear only my inner voice, telling me what to do. Inviting me to take courage. I suddenly realised that I need nothing other than what I already have, and so happily I decided to take my music project into my own hands.

Doyle plays Dog House Guernsey

This live show was recorded by Lou Mann from New York. It was a very high-pressure gig for Doyle, mainly because he was playing on home soil and had invited all his mates from his local running club! Doyle played a duet with guitarist Gary Pickard. They had both finished off a new album of tracks that Mick Doyle had written and they wanted to perform them live. Additionally, Mick wanted to play some of the Nashville stuff.

The Gig went down well and will make a wonderful historical archive for future fans from foreign territories. Mick was forced to play guitar all the way through, and hates doing this because he says he cannot concentrate on his vocals as well. Ho hum, he still sounded great!! Pickard was extremely diverse and so clearly talented, what a pair!

Doyle said, ‘I wanted to go home at half time, then at the end I wanted to give up music all together. When I got home Lou played the DVD back to me and I wanted to be a musician again. Strange thing rock n roll you know!!”

What Joey Barquin had to say …

To listeners;…..i,m a music lover covering most of my 58 years planet side of living………and after hearing the unique abilities that flow from Mick Doyle’s music one realizes that its devoid of anger which usually predicates so much of today’s music…..it is…a type unique which aspires us all to experience the higher qualities of mind, body and spirit. If one were to define, one could say Mick Doyles voice is a homogenius blend of bowie to bono[u2]. if one were to define the type of music, one could say Roxy music to the next level… 21st century exemplified.Mick Doyle is to himself of what we musically take to ourselves.
When listening to Mick Doyles music it re enforces that there are no problems in life…. only solutions.
